Question 1
My title at work requires me to introduce new banking products. I was once required stand up in front of my co-workers and share my idea of a great opening line to sell our products. Getting my audience’s attention was easy, but keeping them intrigued was challenging. I made sure I spoke loudly and at a good pace, where my point was well understood. I made sure I was enthusiastic throughout my campaign, interacted with my audience as much I could.
Public speaking isn’t my favorite, but it’s necessary in my future career. So aside from embarrassment, I need to know my topic thoroughly. Whether it be reviewing it numerous times or continue researching as my facts as possible, there’s definitely a difference in the presentation.
The conversation with my parents about attending college wasn’t such an ordeal that I thought it might have been. I was honest and ready for any question I know they might ask me. I researched all aspects before confronting them about my future plans, knowing what I was talking about was a big factor. I couldn’t say, “Mom and Dad this is where I want to go!” No way were they having it anyways.
