Todd McCarty
Well, as I said in class, I grew up in the far, far suburbs, but lived in Boulder, CO for the last twelve years. It's a small college town, but incredible because the mountains start right outside of town. It's overwhelmingly beautiful and I miss it, especially during the summer. In Boulder, I worked at a local radio station as a producer and hosted two shows. They both focused on poetry. One of my favorite websites is Ubu Web. http://www.ubu.com/ It's a repository of audio clips mostly focusing on poetry, but there are also essays on art and visual art objects too. One of my favorite pieces on the site is by DJ Food called Raiding the Twentieth Century. It's a massive mix exploring the origins of sampling and audio art experimentation beginning back in the 1950's and coming up to the year 2000. Give it a listen.
