Chris Terrill
Hi. My name is Christopher, but my friends call me Chris of course. I hail all the way from Porter, Indiana which is actually very close in relation to this, the lovely city of Chicago. I am twenty years young and I have resided in the area for my entire life. Chicago has, overtime, become my second home. As I’ve grown up, my life has been filled with the extensive array of cultural pleasures that the city has to offer. This ranges from watching Sox games to trips to the Field Museum to even standing outside of the local ABC affiliate in the attempt of plastering my face on the television for the split second that the camera pans outside. I am here now, a student of the Bridge Program in the high hopes of becoming a part of Columbia this coming fall. I have an attraction to this school, like many, as I have always loved art. I can appreciate many different kinds even though the term “art” can be very subjective. Everyone has a personal taste for art whether it is music, scultpure, photography, and so on. Myself, I plan on majoring here in graphic design. I have drawn since I was small and my love affair with the sometimes futile pencil has never faded. But I have learned to incorporate my computer into the creative process. This has led me down the path that I am on and I don’t want to just learn how to get by. I want to strive to be the best at what I do. I want to be able to use my art to make people emotionally feel something when they take a look at my work. I would say that is the biggest success I could imagine for myself. But besides drawing, I view myself as a jack of all trades in the sense of what I enjoy and do. I love music and movies. I can sit more or less all day and just marvel at both of these things without them getting old. I have a deep appreciation for even the smallest detail both on the screen and my ipod. I am also into gaming, graphic novels, and cuddling. So, when it comes down to it, I am the predictable nerd, but I cuddle damn well.

wow you can draw i think that is so awesome ive always wanted to draw but i could never pick it up :p
ReplyDeleteYeah man I like to draw too! thats how I am, my hands get glued to that pencil!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any bodies of work that can be viewed online?
ReplyDeleteYeah, the only problem with the pencil is I'm left handed. So all the lead smeeres on my hand as it moves across the page. And I haven't put any of my actual works online yet. I've always been real nervous about putting them out there.
ReplyDeletewhat's your favorite movie?
ReplyDeleteOh god, that is a REALLY tough question. I think that is something that I have been trying to figure out, but still don't know. I do like smaller things like "Eternal Sunshine", "Once", "Little Miss Sunshine", and "Stranger Than Fiction". But then I like bigger things like "The Matrix", "Dark Knight", and "Cloverfield". But it's way more diverse than that.
ReplyDelete"Jack of all trades"--what else do you do?
ReplyDeleteWell, I am active in sports. I love baseball and consider myself pretty decent at it, but football and basketball, forget it. I suck at those. I also do some small photography with my cheap camera. Then, I also enjoy making little short films in my free time. I make ones that are more experimental and not the norm. Um, I've been playing games since I was five and still do frequently and I love to keep up with technology.
