Alientation

This image represents the theme alienation. In stranger than fiction, you learn of many people who are alienated for being who they are. The wrestlers are alienated from society because no ones understands why they're so into wrestling. Chuck Palahniuk felt alienated from his friends because he wasn't as muscularly large, or nearly as dumb as them (he's not dumb at all), and when Chuck and his friend dressed as animals to get a sense of how it feels to be alienated by society like many races and genders have had to deal with their whole lives growing up in community's filled with ignorance. Ignorance toward people who are much different then yourself or those you grew up with is quite common. However, you should show others with respect, soon you'll realize they're not much different then yourself.

A visual stimuli can help support a theme by helping the reader understand the emotion in which the writer is coming from. From looking at my picture you should get a sense of loneliness and abandonment. The image is dark, sad, and abstract.

The image is reflective of my own feelings toward the issue in a sense that I feel no person should be alienated from community. People should be willing to work with anyone who needs help or is being alienated. Community is about bringing people together with the common goal to help others in need and accepting those who are different then us. You know? Friendship and fun!

The picture I found is as stereotypical as it gets for the theme alienation.
