Shower

Taking a shower has become a wonderful occasion during my everyday life. The event has formed into somewhat of a ritual of me as it is one that I thoroughly enjoy each and every time I experience it. Either after waking up in the morning or before dazing off into sleep, I jump into the ready, warm steams of water and stay there for as long as the comforting, therapeutic feelings endure. For me, the shower is not only a physical cleanser, removing the debit of one's day, but also helps condition me in an emotional state as well. There is a sensation felt while washing away the night or the day I had experienced beforehand, for it is the beginning of a new cycle. I feel as if everything in the past can be forgotten as it is being washed away and then after drying out and preparing for whatever is next; there is a clean slate ahead of me. The shower is also a place for my own meditation. It is a place to think and collect ideas that perhaps would never come to me while a computer sits in front of my face as a distraction from the outside world. This is my place to think outside of the box and form my ideas into deeper thoughts as the caressing water flows past me. However, I am not saying that this way of thought can't be attained by myself outside of this sanctuary, but it just creates an open forum where the notions I have of the world, my surroundings, politics, religion, and so on, can come to fruition and be explored by my mind in a more focused manner.
