Genocide Response

According to Webster's Dictionary, genocide is the systematic destruction of a political or cultural group. There have been many genocides in the world's history, such as the slaughters in Rwanda, the unclaimed killings is Armenia, and then also in Sudan.  After studying this subject through my years of schooling, I choose to focus more on the Holocaust (http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/article.php?lang=en&ModuleId=10005143), as it is the most fascinating to me.  This was the case due to it being the first mass murder I had ever learned about and the thought of such terrible destruction resonated with me ever since.
During the times of World War II, Nazi Germany was growing strong against the ally forces.  Throughout those years, they had been invading countries all over Europe which were occupied by great Jewish populations.  Due to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime's feelings against the Jewish people, they created the"Final Solution".  This policy was put in an attempt to kill off the Jews of the continent.  The genocide didn't just end there, as Romas were also killed as well as physically or mentally disabled hospital patients were also "taken out" due to an act called "Euthanasia Program".  I believe these incidences occurred due to Nazi Germany's own beliefs.  Even though committing a horrendous act of violence, Hitler and his followers believed he was doing the right thing.  He may or may not have been crazy, but he must have truly believed that the Jews were a honest to God plaque that had to be eradicated from the Earth.  I am in no way trying to defend this man as I and countless others view him as a sinister, evil person, but in the eyes of his people, he was king.
